ABOUT

Breathing life into the nostalgic sounds of shoegaze and dream pop, Kaurna Land / Adelaide based outfit Sunsick Daisy quickly captured audiences with their effortless energy and genre-diverse sound.

Since their debut single ‘Someone Like You’ placed them as Triple J Unearthed High finalists in 2022, Sunsick Daisy have been unstoppable - selling out several headline shows and sharing stages with the likes of The Lemonheads (USA), Feeder (UK), Ball Park Music, The Buoys and more.

Singles ‘I’m Coming Home’ and ‘Underwater’ paved the way for their debut EP, ‘Breathe In… Breathe Out’ in 2023. The release received acclaim from triple J and premiere US radio station KEXP, where it was added to rotation and peaked at #49 in their Top 90 charts. From the cathartic build up of ‘Faith’ to the frenzied defiance of ‘I’m Fine’, the EP is a journey of love, loss, self-doubt and perseverance.

The widely acclaimed ‘It’ll Be Alright’ from the band’s 2025 sophomore EP ‘Yonder’ earned rotation on KEXP and triple j Unearthed as well as receiving heavy airplay on triple j and community radio across Australia. The EP was praised by Rolling Stone, Happy Mag, The Music, Backseat Mafia and more, as well as being added to a slew of playlists like Adrenaline, All New Rock and Surf Rock Sunshine on Spotify and New Music Daily and Heaps Indie on Apple Music.

Following a huge run of headline tours and support slots across the country, Sunsick Daisy have solidified themselves as one of the country’s most exciting young live bands - performing to packed rooms at BIGSOUND and earning a slot on the 2025 Harvest Rock Festival lineup alongside The Strokes, The War On Drugs, Vance Joy and more.

With new bassist Ella Phillips joining founding members Kane Gabell and Sarah Grainger, the next era of Sunsick Daisy is quickly shaping up to be their most inspired yet. Leading with new single ‘Pale Blue’ - a hazy, psychedelic ode to digital love - Sunsick Daisy emerge with a revitalised, confident energy that continues to evolve their cascading, signature wall of sound.

"Pale Blue"

Fresh off the back of performing to packed rooms at BIGSOUND, Sunsick Daisy return with hazy new single, 'Pale Blue’, under the band's new lineup that includes bass player Ella Phillips.

Originally penned as a teenager by guitarist Kane Gabell - who also takes lead vocals for the track - 'Pale Blue' builds on Sunsick Daisy's woozy, guitar-driven brand of dream pop and splashes it with a touch of 90s psychedelia. As Kane explains: “‘Pale Blue’ is about the beauty and madness of two people falling in love while being tethered to each other by their phones. I wrote it when I was 15, inspired by one of my first relationships and my newfound love for shoegaze music. I ignored it for a while but now felt like the right time to bring it back.”

Sunsick Daisy are charging into a colourful new era with purpose and invigoration, with ‘Pale Blue’ serving as the first exciting taste of what’s to come.
